Biblical scholars meet at Oberlin on Old Testament revisions
A dozen biblical scholars gather at Oberlin College sponsored by the National Council of Churches to revise the Old Testament for the Revised Standard Version. The group, arranged by the late Herbert May, aims to update archaic language, remove sexist terms, and render passages in contemporary English, with completion possibly in the 1980s.

Grafton man to study in Rome for papal coronation
Daniel E. Smith of Grafton will study theology at the Gregorian Pontifical Institute in Rome this fall. He departs for New York City then flies to Rome to live at the North American College, awaiting the pope’s election and coronation. Smith, summa cum laude graduate of Borromeo College, has deep ties to Immaculate Conception Church and prior service with Rose Mary Home and St Joseph's Children's Home.

In Belfast during a five day study seminar, over 30 Protestant and Catholic Americans heard that violence here has eased somewhat but a final settlement remains distant. Born-again Radio debuts with inspirational mix on KBRT AM
In Los Angeles KBRT AM launches Born-Again Radio later termed inspirational radio.
