Oberlin 87 year old Robert Rogers dies. owned two restaurants
Robert Rogers 87 of 36 Glenhurst Dr Oberlin died this morning at Elms Nursing Home after years of failing health. He owned the Varsity Restaurant from 1937 to 1945 and the Minute Lunch from 1945 to 1985. Rogers lived most of his life in Oberlin and was a long time lodge member. Survivors and funeral details listed.

Amherst Boy Drowns In Park Pool Near Oxford
An eight year old Amherst boy, Craig Stevens, drowned in a motel pool at Hueston Woods State Park near Oxford. Lifeguards were off duty. he slipped in around 6:15 p.m. and was recovered by rescuers with efforts to revive him failing. He attended Camden Elementary School and is survived by his parents, a sister, and grandparents. Funeral services are set at Fisher Funeral Home in Vermilion with burial in Brownhelm Cemetery.
