Time Necessary For Drying Plaster Walls In New Homes
In houses with plaster walls owners should keep walls unfinished for several months to allow plaster to dry. Cracks and dampness may appear if painted early, and matching new paint to old can be difficult. Unfinished walls with trim and decor look acceptable, and the white deco trend can disguise the raw plaster.
Attractive acoustics balance science and beauty in design
Sound deadening walls and ceilings need not be unattractive. Mica based acoustical material expands with heat to a shimmering gold color. Painting does not reduce efficiency. Decorative brocades can be applied over acoustical materials, and decoration often remains unimpeded.
