MOBERLY, MO Aug 22 Two miners fought for 72 hours in a 110 foot tunnel after a mine collapse. Jack McCann 60 and Demme Sexton 37 survived despite gas exposure and exhaustion. Edward Stoner Jr. died first, followed by George Namerson 27. The trapped mule died with them as rescuers battled muck and fire to reach them.

Damage to the bank building may total four to five hundred dollars, with marble and bricks falling from the top corner. repair work started this afternoon. The Gaston Road fire damaged two rooms in Captain A. T. Patchett’s house before fire was controlled by South Amherst firefighters.
