Amherst Ohio August 23 Mrs John Ludtke bride received a chenille bed spread Tuesday evening when Jessamine Lodge Daughters of Scotland met at Odd Fellow Hall. The legion auxiliary held its meeting in Legion rooms Tuesday evening and prepared decorations for a parade float for the 125th anniversary celebration. Delegates to Akron will report at the next gathering, with further sewing to occur later this week and details to be announced. Sixty-six then.
Circle Two of St. Ann's Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church will meet this evening with Mrs. George Menz on S Main Street. Circle Five of the Women's Guild at St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church will meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Mervin Schubert and Mrs. Elsie Whiton assisting.
At the board meeting last evening Miss Eleanor Purdy of Lakewood was hired to fill the girls' physical training and history teaching vacancy left by Mrs. Gerald Dolan. Purdy, Oberlin graduate, has just finished a summer counselor post at a Pine Bush girls camp near New York City. Mrs. Minnie Brucker was hired to assist in Domestic Science. Also admitted were Mrs. William Dahl of Elyria Avenue and Charles Kinzey of Amherst R. D. 1.
Mrs. Alvin Brown Mrs. Charles Mathes and Mrs. Gertrude Parker returned Tuesday afternoon from Akron where they attended sessions of the state legion convention. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gordon have returned from a ten days visit in New York City and World's Fair.
