Ambers Regains Lightweight Crown Over Armstrong Despite Penalties
Lou Ambers retook the world lightweight title by outpointing Henry Armstrong in Yankee Stadium. Penalties for Armstrong’s low blows cost him five rounds, leaving Ambers with a narrow victory in a fight many observers felt Armstrong could have won. Taub and Stern reviews praised and criticized the broadcasts differently, foreshadowing a third title bout next Fall. Clymer reports from Columbus on Elyria High plans and Ohio State football, noting fall practice start and regional prep.
