Ridgeville murder trial questions fall as cause of death
ELYRIA A Lorain County doctor said he doubted Richard P. James was injured only by a fall from a small stairway. Autopsy showed four to eight blows to the skull while testimony linked the death to an assault after a night of heavy drinking at a North Ridgeville home.

Accident in Avon Lake cyanide poisons worker
A worker at Rykon Specialized Plating Inc in Avon Lake remained in critical condition at Lorain Community Hospital two days after inhaling sodium cyanide during a night shift. John Hyatt Jr., 98 Hornyak Court, is treated in ICU for internal injuries after reportedly inhaling the chemical while handling a powdered form used to strip metals at Rykon, 555 Miller Rd. He reportedly went home ill, collapsed, and was found by his wife who called rescue services.

Hyatt worker may have spilled powder and blood tests taken
Gray said Inside Hyatt may have spilled sodium cyanide powder on himself or was sweeping up spilled powder. Nine of the company's 15 other employees received blood tests Thursday at Lorain Community. Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain tonight. Lows in the mid 60s. Saturday calls for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs in the low 80s.
Berea man wins third largest Ohio Super Lotto jackpot
Dennis Driscoll of Berea won Wednesday night’s $10 million Super Lotto jackpot, the third largest single-ticket sum in state history. He will receive $400,101.32 annually for 20 years after taxes. The winning numbers were 3 5 9 17 35 41. 220 tickets matched five numbers, 10,454 matched four, and 168,806 matched three. The ticket was bought at Conveninet Food Market near Halleen’s Chevrolet in North Olmsted.
