Spectator Injured as Race Car Hits Wall at Lorain Speedway

Truck Demolished At Crossing In Narrow Escape
A 1942 pick up truck was demolished at a railroad crossing on Abbe road between French Creek and Colorado roads. Driver Donald Konawal of Lorain escaped serious injury after a train dragged the vehicle 94 feet. He was treated at St Josephs hospital for head and knee injuries and released. Engineer Cy Hendrix reported the train had 95 empty cars and was not traveling fast.
