New GM Corsica starts at Linden plant retooling back in gear
The first of GM's new compact Corsica rolled off the Linden New Jersey assembly line as part of a $300 million retooling that laid off 4,800 workers last year. About 1,000 workers are back, with 100 called back Monday, and 3,700 total expected for Corsica and Berretta production. The car will be kept from public view until after January to stock supply, with an estimated price around 8000 dollars.
Creston Livestock Auction Sees 839 Head Consigned
Creston livestock sale Monday totaled 839 head from 277 consignors. Two horses were listed for 215 to 290. Calves priced by class ranged from 40 to 69 for various categories with cross-breds 55 to 75 and back to the farm bull calves 44 to 69. Sheep and lambs followed with mixed grades from 19 to 60. Cattle prices covered choice steers 60 to 335, goods 53 to 60, Holsteins 42 to 53, choice heifers 57 to 62, good beef cows 38 to 43, feeders 42 to 56, and various other classes.
