Driver survives car plunge after splashdown near Lorain
A southbound car left the Black River Reservation road and plunged into the river near the Ford Road Bridge. The driver Kenneth A. Shenker, 15, and two occupants escaped unharmed after the vehicle skidded 60 feet and tore out 50 feet of guard rail before landing right side up in the river at about 2 45 a.m. The youth was charged with failure to stop within assured clear distance by Elyria police.
