North Ridgeville rapid growth cited in study

North Ridgeville has seen housing increase about 78 percent since 1970, ranking among the nation’s fastest growing areas. Lorain County planning officials say the growth may place it high nationally, though concerns arise about whether city services can keep pace. Preliminary data cover housing trends from 1972 to 1976 with a forecast completion late this year or early next year.

Spa raid closes Golden Gate Health Spa after license check

North Olmsted police shut down the Golden Gate Health Spa at 23627 Lorain Road after staff could not show an operating license. A female employee was arrested for unlawful body contact with an undercover officer. warrants were issued for owner Kil Lee and another employee. The case stems from a long undercover investigation begun in May. the arrestee was later freed on $400 bond ahead of an Aug. 24 Rocky River Municipal Court arraignment.

Young's PLO talks spark demands for his ouster

Senate Democratic Leader Robert Byrd urged President Carter to remove U N ambassador Andrew Young after he met with a Palestine Liberation Organization official. The episode followed an earlier rebuke over a separate Young-Terzi contact and drew Israeli criticism as U S policy remains that the PLO must recognize Israel before any contacts. Byrd called Young’s actions contrary to policy and said his liabilities outweigh his assets for a high government post.
