Task force forms suspect list in spate of stabbings
Detroit police and Genesee County prosecutor say a task force led by Michigan State Police and aided by the FBI is narrowing a list of suspects tied to at least 20 stabbings in Ohio Michigan and Virginia. The probe has 469 tips and spans Flint Leesburg and Toledo with attacks peaking pre dawn on Mondays.

Ohio settles with voting machine company over malfunctions
Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner reached a settlement with Premier Election Solutions Inc. after a 2008 lawsuit over voting machine malfunctions. The deal may include one time payments and free licensing and equipment for more than 40 counties, with counties given 75 days to opt in. Two counties, Cuyahoga and Montgomery, had already settled. Premier, now part of Election Systems & Software, had sued Cuyahoga for breach of contract after it dropped Premier systems.

Man fatally shot after Union County police chase
A man exchanged gunfire with deputies, state troopers, and Marysville officers during a 10 to 15 minute pursuit after a domestic dispute call. He died at Memorial Hospital. at least one deputy was lightly injured by a ricochet. Names were not released.
