Brabham eyes 1966 World Title at Monza race

Brabham can clinch the World Driving Championship by finishing first or second in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September 4. He has already won the French British Dutch and German Grands Prix this season for 39 points, with Graham Hill his nearest rival on 17 and Jochen Rindt Jackie Stewart far behind. Brabham built his own car and became the first driver to score world championship points in a car of his own construction in 1963, later winning back to back titles in 1960. He left Australia for England in 1955 to pursue racing, later adopting a self designed Buick Repco V8 engine when he went solo in 1966, aiming for the Constructors Championship as well.
