700 Men Start Work On 30 WPA Projects
About 779 men formerly on Lorain County relief rolls are now employed on Works Progress Administration projects under Earle Dunran. Twenty one projects, five new, replace and complete earlier FERA work, with wages from 1 to 17 dollars weekly, and potential countywide WPA employment reaching around two thousand. Women’s projects remain separate. five new sites include Amherst storm sewer and Lorain lake street improvements.

Wild Dog Killed By Farmer Near Oberlin
A wild dog preying on sheep and cattle between here and Oberlin was killed Saturday night by Merle Penfound, an Oberlin road farmer who shot the animal near his home. The same dog reportedly caused damage last week to three cows on the G C Strickler farm, with a $50 bounty settled. The dog warden was also called to Alfred Nagel’s farm in Avon Lake where sheep were killed last night.

Reopen Swimming Pool At Park After Flood
Cascade Park activities returned to near normal today after floods inundated lowland areas last week. The pool was reopened following drainage and cleaning, with a foot of silt found on the bottom.
