Local couple lauded as Corn Fest opens

North Ridgeville honors Raymond and Dorothy Grega with the Golden Kernel Award at the 24th Annual Corn Festival opening day. Columbia bridge work ahead of schedule in Lorain County

ODOT official says replacement of the Route 252 bridge at Spra gue Road in Columbia Township is about a year ahead and should be done by Oct 1. A separate $18 million plan to widen the Garfield Bridge on Route 254 near Gulf Road is set to start next June, with crews moving quickly due to mild winter. Ken Wright announced the updates at the Lorain County Community Alliance meeting. Trustee Gene Bulgrin welcomed the news as a big relief.
