Meat Prices Seen To Rise Further At Kiwanis Meeting

Prof. W R Wertz of Ohio State University told Kiwanis members the farm balance sheet shows national income falling from 10.8 billion in 1928 to 4 billion in 1932, then rising to about 9.5 billion in 1937. He warned meat prices will climb and recovery in pork and beef will take years, noting drought slaughters and limited breeding stock. Ohio farmers face high relative prices but long range agriculture prospects remain weak as exports may not return to prewar levels. Visitors included H C Sinsich Columbus and L A Dusthiner Newark among others.
