British Corporal Battles Bombing and Repairs at Sea

British Corporal, a 6972 ton tank steamship from Abadan to London, appealed for aid after air attack in the Mediterranean. Repairs to its wireless system were reported, and it proceeded toward Algiers after the damage from bombs. The vessel was near the African coast and southeastern Spain when the first distress was sent. The incident echoes a nearby mine strike that wounded eight sailors.
