In Orlando Florida a family of bald eagles placed a nest on Sterling Park land prompting builder Dick Bonds to declare the site a sanctuary. The nest now receives a 32 acre protected area with a moat around the future golf course and no disturbance to the eagles. The project foregoes 100 homes at a potential value of 620000 dollars. Bonds notes the birds may later be used for conservation.

Australians arrest two in Qantas bomb hoax
Police in Sydney say two men, one a 38 year old marine engineer and the other a 31 year old Englishman known as Mr Brown, were arrested in a flying hoax case. They allegedly took about 560000 from Qantas after threats of blowing up a Hong Kong bound 707. The plane returned to Sydney, circling for hours as investigators pursued the scam. Police recovered part of the money. total sum not disclosed.
