Duffin Manufacturing Built Rapidly Since 1964 Growth
Duffin Manufacturing expanded from Lorain in 1964 to a 6.5 acre site with new machines and higher construction costs, requiring over $1 million to duplicate. The plant runs as a job shop for screw fasteners and related brass aluminum and steel parts with no finished goods inventory. Customer orders come through agents and are produced to specification. Duffin credits low employee turnover and strong company loyalty, aided by favorable working conditions and mutual trust. He is a Cleveland native and World War II veteran who built the business with partners including Fred Wilhelm and Tom Finnegan, expanding after acquiring Lorain Automatic Screw Machine Co. He serves on local boards, travels, fische, and attends Holy Trinity Church in Avon with his family.
