Sandusky Erie County Youth Group Inc. received a 70000 grant from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration to operate two delinquent youth group homes. The funds cover food, housekeeping, travel, medical expenses, and salaries for about twenty youths. The agency, now a sub grantee of Erie County Commissioners, enters its third year of funding.
Two motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated by Elyria police early Saturday. Robert L. Larkin, 46, of 137 Lincoln St., was stopped at 12 45 a.m. on East River Street after police saw him driving with headlights off. Dale Adams, 40, of Slumber Inn Motel, 318 E Griswold Rd., was stopped on Route 57 near Griswold Road after officers traveling northbound saw his car proceed onto the highway.
Michael B. Sittinger, 20, of 334 Pasadena Ave., was fined $500 and sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty in Elyria Municipal Court of gross sexual imposition. Police saw him in a parked car with a 15-year-old Elyria girl near Naples Drive at Erie School.
Mrs Veona J Caton 78 of 206 Redwood Ct Amherst Mobile Home Park died last night at Lorain Community Hospital after a week long illness. Born in Fairmont Ti she lived in Lorain 1918 1940 then moved to California where she supervised nurses at Butte County Hospital Orville. She returned to Amherst in July last year. A registered nurse she was a former Metropolitan Visiting Nurse in Lorain County before 1940. Her husband Paul died in 1967. Surviving sister Cecelia Kohler Elyria. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain with funeral at Hemple Funeral Wednesday at 1 p.m.

A Willard police attack dog, a German shepherd belonging to Sgt. Tom Ludban, was shot in its pen outside Ludban’s Euclid Street residence around 4:45 a.m. Sunday. The dog suffered shotgun wounds to the stomach and hindquarter, police Chief Glen Seiple reported.
A large number of adults and children joined the Western Heights Improvement Association’s annual spring clean-up this weekend. The effort yielded four truck loads of refuse hauled away by city sanitation workers, and workers enjoyed hot dogs and punch afterward per association president George Hodge.
Daryl E. Perkins, 21, of Fitchville died at New London Hospital after an apparent drug overdose. He was taken in by friends Saturday night. the autopsy will be conducted by the Cuyahoga County Coroner. Surviving relatives include his mother Gretchen Perkins and three brothers and two sisters. Services are planned Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Fitchville United Methodist Church with burial in Fitchville Cemetery.
A 16-year-old student, James Johnson, was stabbed in the stomach at Perkins High School during an argument. The assailant, a 14-year-old, is in Erie County Detention Home. both will face juvenile authorities with Johnson charged with assault and the other with felonious assault.

The Elyria school board will study teacher appointments for the 1976 77 year at tonight’s meeting. No staff cuts are planned, says assistant superintendent Don Swartz. A 42 year old Bay Village man Jack J. Smith of 27905 Wolf Road slipped and fell through a plate glass shower window in his bathroom last night. He was listed in satisfactory condition at Fairview General Hospital with a cut to his left thigh. The incident occurred around 9 p.m.
