Bay Village family survives Florida shooting rampage
A nine hour gunman spree in Florida and Georgia left three dead and 14 wounded. Moses Pearson Jr., 31, of Jacksonville, abducted Dale Janda and his wife and two daughters after ramming their car on I-75. Janda, wounded in the arm, and his family escaped as Pearson killed himself during a police pursuit. The Jandas, from Bay Village, Ohio, were returning from Easter vacation when the malefactor attacked. Pearson had been released from a Missouri prison recently and is suspected in other local killings. The family planned to continue home to Bay Village after treatment.

Indictments in Ohio tag shortages reach Lebanon
Former Lebanon deputy auto registrar John Keller and two staffers Sidney Thayer and Beth Back were indicted on theft in office for missing auto license fees, tied to a state audit that found about 78 thousand dollars missing from the Keller agency amid more than 1.1 million in shortages statewide. Thayer faces extra felonies for destroying evidence and tampering with records. Keller and Back face additional charges and potential sentences.
