Oberlin Congregationalists started a Sunday School in the East Russia School House, an effort tried for decades. Non-Denominational East Oberlin Church Progress and Plans

Gifts from friends and fellow members funded a building near the schoolhouse in Oberlin with five hundred dollars annual pledges for five years from the United Church, plus a twenty five hundred dollar loan and grant from the Congregational Church Building Society. By January 1931 the structure neared completion, services held weekly, and joint programs with Kipton and Pittsfield Churches featured notable professors and ministers. The church operates non denominationally, welcomes all aged twelve and up, and serves as a social hub though final tower work remains unfinished due to funds.
