Christan Stolzenburg of 328 Columbus street announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Councilman at Large in the August primaries. A former at large councilman, he twice served on the Fire and Police committee and Streets and Sidewalks, previously chaired the Fire and Police committee, and sits on the police and fire pension board as citizen member. LaGrange Plans Two Girls Clubs As Interest Grows

LaGrange will organize two girls clubs this year instead of one as interest in Four-H Club work increases. Miss Alice Bird, county extension agent, reports twenty four girls have signed up. sixteen for clothing and eight for foods. A club is also expected to form in Penidfeld, which had none last year.

Health Commissioner of Logan Dies at 63

Dr Morton W. Bland, 63, head health commissioner for Logan, Hocking County, died today at a rural rest home after weeks of illness from edema. A Rush Medical College graduate, class of 1900, he practiced in Bellevue and Westerville before moving to Logan and served as state registrar of vital statistics in 1915-16. He was a member of the Columbus Academy of Medicine and the Ohio State Medical Association. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the home of his sister, Mrs. Jennie Irvin, in Galion.

Boston report says Telco the dog that had accompanied Admiral Richard Byrd on Arctic and polar explorations died of poisoning after a digestion incident at the Byrd home. Detroit Tax Office Robbery Ends With Capture of Aiding Bandit

In Detroit on April 21 a bandit robbed the city treasurer’s office of about $28 008 in tax receipts on the first floor of City Hall. A confederate named Theodore Crowles, 28, of Chinaco, was captured minutes later. Loot included about $3,000 in cash and $25,400 in checks. Police note three guards briefly left to escort funds to a bank. One bandit reached through a hole in the cashier cage, aided by a helper, and fled with the loot.

Mayor C. E. Cooper of Amherst says he is the victim of a theft epidemic. Yesterday someone crawled over his office transom in the Redington building and stole three dollars from a safe. Earlier a $100 loss and January 1930 an ordinance book vanished. A man is under investigation.
