Wellington Night marks bicentennial fundraiser and seal art

Wellington officials designate May 12 as Wellington Night with Mayor Hans Schneider throwing the first pitch. A portion of ticket sales from the $9 games supports the bicentennial fund at local retailers. The Bicentennial Committee unveils a seal by Al Leiby based on William Tegtmeyer’s sketch. Coins bearing the seal will be minted for fundraising in silver $50 and bronze or nickel $20. Residents may submit seat designs online for voting while a dedicated Bicentennial Celebration Fund accepts donations via Jodi Weinberger.
