The city trial for Endia Lawrence and Cecelia Whettstone of Oberlin College was moved to 8 30 a.m. May 15 after attorney Jack Bradley requested a delay due to a county grand jury investigation. Prosecutor Frank Carlson said the Oberlin Municipal Court case could take three days to complete as county charges may be forthcoming.

Deputies Revive Juror After Heart Attack at Justice Center
Lorain County deputies aided a juror who suffered a heart attack at the Lorain County Justice Center. Deputy Mike Folley and Sgt. Josh Croston used an AED and provided CPR and rescue breaths until EMS arrived. The man was hospitalized at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center in stable condition.

Avon doggie pool wins planning approval for indoor facility
The Planning Commission approved a project by Chicago company Doggie Paddle Aquatic Center to build a 7,468 square foot indoor dog swimming facility on a two acre parcel on Colorado Avenue east of Moore Road across from Mulligan's Pub & Grille. Land was sold by Wendy Kamm to Doggie Paddle First Property LLC for 465000 dollars. The site will host a year round pool for dogs with summer access implied.
