Action-Packed Boxing Show Fills Card at Bugle Auditorium
The boxing card at the Bugle auditorium featured eight-round main bout Bennie Burns of Akron versus Tommie Burk of Cleveland. Burns outboxed early but Burk staggered him with a right to the head in round four and earned the crowd’s attention with a hard punching display. Burns fought back, using defense to avoid the heavier blows as the Akron lad remained the faster fighter. Other bouts included Young Cox of Elyria vs Kid Baker of Lorain, Tack Den of Cleveland vs Frank of Cleveland, Billy Pitts of Ireland vs Kid Hanks of Elyria, a limited six-round match between Graham of Lorain and Jack Mann of Cleveland, and a six-round showcase between Avon’s Yankie Sunday and Alton’s Thar. The event concluded with several draws and a technical knockout in the later match, leaving fans buzzing over the night’s action.
