Memorialized Elyria officer Kerstetter added to Lorain memorial

The name of Elyria police officer James Kerstetter was carved Tuesday into the Lorain County police memorial outside the county jail. Among mourners were fellow Elyria officers and a dispatcher who said she still grieves for Kerstetter who died after a March 15 shooting on 18th Street. The act followed a donation by Lewis Monument Co. and honored Kerstetter alongside 13 others, with a May 21 Cleveland memorial service planned and a future addition to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.
