Missing man found dead identified as Javier Reveron

A body recovered from the East River in 2004 has been identified as Javier Reveron of Lorain. DNA matched Reveron, who disappeared Jan 13 2004 after flying one way to New York City. His father is a former Lorain councilman.

Judge cuts bond for man shot by North Ridgeville police

Lorain County man Jeffrey Phillips, 30, agreed to a case referral to a county grand jury in exchange for a reduced bond from more than 160000 to 100000. He remains jailed on a parole hold after an April 1 police incident in which officers pursued him during a domestic violence arrest attempt. Police said Phillips fled from Morris Cadillac Buick Pontiac GMC during the arrest.

Councilman condemns Vic’s flier for all male revue

Elyria Councilman Forrest Bullocks called a flier for The Chocolate Factory All Male Revue at Vic’s Night Club in very poor taste and says he will seek the show’s cancellation after noticing the promo on his car. He cites gun violence concerns and has left a message with club owner Dean Costa. Police seek information on Tuesday gunfight on Middle Avenue near 11th Street. Elyria police arrest suspect tied to city shooting

Elyria officers stopped a turquoise Chevrolet Cobalt on Middle Avenue at 7 50 p m and detained Christopher Howse 18 after a traffic stop. Howse was charged with carrying a concealed weapon improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle possession of drug paraphernalia and faces bonds over 90 000 He was cited for driving under suspension not wearing a seat belt and possession of marijuana.

Death penalty handed down to killer in Northeast Ohio

Jeremiah Jackson, 29, of Cleveland, convicted on 40 counts including aggravated murder and kidnapping, was sentenced to death by a three judge panel for a crime spree across three counties. The prosecution credited Lorain police and surveillance video for leading to his arrest after a Walgreen hold up on June 18 2009. Co defendants Maurice Harrison Katrina Dickerson and James Dixon also faced sentences for their roles.
