Walleye Run Sparks Fremont River Activity and Offenses
The Sandusky River action brings good walleye counts with an 11 pounder reported and top lures including white yellow and fluorescent leadhead jigs. Biologists predict a strong weekend, while wildlife officers report 20 anglers arrested for snagging walleyes. Smelt activity in Lake Erie area expected to rise next week with limited local interest and common catching methods noted. A quirky District Three note describes a whitetail doe breaking into Mohican State Lodge pool area before vanishing.
