Mrs John Downs of Carlisle dies at home after weeks of illness. Detroit April 7 belated returns from Monday's presidential primary add little to totals from two thirds of precincts. Senator Hiram W. Johnson leads Major General Leonard Wood by 42 251 on the Republican ticket. Herbert Hoover tops Governor S Edward of New Jersey by 44 1066 votes.
