Lorain Boy Drowns After Raft Breaks Apart
A 14-year-old Lorain boy, Michael Reaser, drowned in the Black River after he and friend slipped from a raft of two logs and a wooden platform. Gary Fiorello, 13, survived to tell police Reaser went under as he twice swam to shore. Reaser, a Hawthorne Junior High student, was found missing about 20 feet from shore after the raft broke apart amid clothing weighing him down.
