Lorain Man Shot by Officers Faces Monday Court Appearance
Jeffrey Phillips, 30, was shot three times by North Ridgeville police Thursday while leading officers on a chase from Morris Cadillac to his Lorain home. He was transferred to Lorain County Jail with injuries and faces felonious assault, resisting arrest, and felony fleeing charges. his sister disputes the officers’ account of attempting to run them over and says authorities may be covering the incident.

Four North Ridgeville teenagers face charges after two fires damaged the high school soccer field house on March 16 and 17. Two 16-year-olds are charged with arson and breaking and entering for both fires, another teen faces counts for the March 17 blaze, and the fourth is charged only with breaking and entering for the March 16 discovery. Firefighters were summoned by maintenance workers who found the damaged concession stand and storage buildings off Bainbridge Road.
