TeleTech to close Amherst Twp call center in May
TeleTech will shut its Amherst Township call center on Park Avenue by May 31, laying off 585 workers who earned about 11 to 12 dollars an hour. The closure follows a contract shift by the client, widely believed to be T-Mobile, with in-house operations now likely. The loss weighs on Lorain County's economy, and officials expect a difficult replacement.
