Government warns on Iraqi front firms and middlemen
U S authorities name 89 front companies and 37 middlemen linked to Saddam Hussein and Iraq oil revenue. Two U S firms Bay Industries Inc and Matrix Churchill Corp are cited among the 52 companies. Campaign checkoff not big in midwest
Midwesterners are the most reluctant Americans to contribute $1 of their taxes to the presidential election campaign fund by checking off a box on income tax returns. Indiana Kentucky Michigan Ohio and West Virginia are especially stingy, while Eastern states have been the most generous.
