Ski lift crash at Ford's retreat blamed on faulty cable

UPI reports a frayed cable caused two gondola cars to derail at Vail as President Ford spent winters there. One car jammed at a lift tower 1000 feet beyond the fault and the second collided with a third car. Three women died instantly and a Massachusetts teen died two days later. eight others injured.
