Equalized Ohio Realty Tax Is Goal of House
Representative Donald H. Rolf of Hamilton County introduces a measure on the House finance committee to allot 250000 to the State Board of Tax Appeals for an equalization drive. The plan aims to adjust low real estate valuations that depress county revenues and increase subsidies to local governments and schools. Summit County’s example shows low valuations hampering financing. if approved, the move could shift funds to municipalities and reduce state subsidy demands. The proposal must pass the House, then face a Senate test amid rural opposition to higher real estate taxes.
