A general alarm fire in the 400 block of Cleveland Avenue NW caused an estimated $20,000 damage to apartments and stores, with the Mardi Gras night club at the rear open during the blaze. No injuries. Jeanne Stoll and Leona Burns were rescued, while damage focused on the Variety sports shop and Korey apparel shop.
