George W Monnot early Canton car dealer and Ford Lincoln Rambler agent died Sunday in Mercy Hospital at 75 after a ten day illness. He helped establish the bicycle shop and became the first Ford distributor in Ohio before later selling for Rambler Nash and Jeffery cars. Burial will be in St John church cemetery with a requiem high mass Wednesday.
Sister Euphrasia, longtime Mercy Hospital superintendent for six years and executive figure since 1926, died early Sunday at the hospital after a long illness. A native of Toledo she joined the Sisters of Charity in 1898 and drew honors from a career in nursing education that began in Sandusky in 1907.

Payton was convicted of first degree murder in the slaying of Clyde L. Engle a night watchman at Peter Pan Cleaners and Dyers Co. He admitted beating Engle and stealing about 700 dollars. Payton asked for fried chicken as his last meal with sides.

Miss Jacqueline Snyder of Mercy Hospital was the first nurse at the Old Kenyon Hall fire early Sunday at Kenyon College. She aided burned victims as the fire spread from the first floor to the third and then engulfed the dormitory within 20 to 30 minutes.
