Milton L. Perrigo, recently moved to Alma from Forest Hill, closes a contract with John D. Spinney for an auto salesroom at 211 213 and 213 East Superior street. Spinney sells the small store at 215 and advertises 211 for $100. Perrigo leases lots 16 and 17, block 20, with 63 feet on East Superior street and 182 feet depth. George Young to supervise brick stone and cement building designed to resemble Flint Garage, with iron truss roof and no interior columns. Plans by George H. Swift of Flint. Building to cover 58 feet on East Superior and extend 60 to 80 feet back, to ease car handling. iron truss roof with pulley system for undercar work. Obituary of Jonsie Clark of Arcada Township
Jonsie Clark wife of Frank W. Clark of Arcada township was laid to rest Sunday September 20 in Riverside cemetery. The funeral drew a large crowd with about a hundred rigs following to the cemetery. Many flowers were sent by relatives friends and the Loyal Order of Moose of which Mr. Clark was a member. She was highly respected by all who knew her.

Mrs. Archie L. Vought Dies After Weeklong Illness
Mrs. Sarah Ia Knox Vought died Thursday morning at five o'clock at the home of her father in law J H Vought 285 Grover Avenue after a weeklong illness. Born July 31 1880 at Stratford Canada she lived there 13 years then moved to Detroit with later residence in Alma. She married Archie L Vought of Alma seven years ago next October. Funeral services held in Alma then in Detroit at 45 Beech Street with mourners Emma Mulvey and Harry L Vought of Detroit and Lena Vought among others. Mr Vought plans to return to Alma after the funeral.

Buick Fire Injures Dredge Owner's Car Near City
A Buick Model F owned by B. G. Atherton, dredge operator six miles south of town, caught fire Saturday at eight pm in front of Mrs. Gaffney's store. Gasoline leaked from the tank, flowed into the gutter and ignited, but Lawrence Ellison's quick extinguisher work saved the car. A nearby crowd formed, narrowly avoiding a larger disaster.

Longtime Alma official John Dunham Sr Dies at 94
John Dunham Sr aged 94 died suddenly last Sunday at the home of his daughter Mrs H J Hyde three miles west of Alma. A respected city elder and the county’s oldest Mason, he served Alma as councilman and justice of the peace for about twenty years. Born August 6 1820 in Pleasant Lake New York he lived fifty years in Hartland Highland and Alma holding justice of the peace posts in each. Survived by his daughter Mrs H J Hyde and Mrs Dunham, nine children two died in infancy. Funeral Tuesday at Mrs Hyde’s home with Masonic services at Riverside cemetery beside his wife.

The body of J N Day Sr an Alma citizen who died in Traverse City last week Wednesday was brought to the home of his wife on Park avenue Alma Friday afternoon and the funeral service was conducted in the Methodist church by Rev jd W Priest on Saturday September 19 1914. John Norra Day was born in Detroit Mich on December 9 1834 and died at Traverse City on Wednesday September 16 1914. He married Cornelia J Hildreth in Detroit May 20 1856 and they later resided in Clinton Eaton and Gratiot counties before settling in Alma. Eight of their twelve children survive: Maude Keith Portland Oregon William J Day Midland John N Day Jr Houghton Lake Josephine Castle Grand Rapids Ida Bigelow Alma Jennie Woodward Sumner Addie Gibbons Parsons Rand Abbie Wolfe Swift Current Sask.
