Military Rule Prevailed At Bass Lake Scout Trip
Fifty-seven Boy Scouts in uniform left Friday for Bass Lake and stayed until Sunday under military rules. Guided by Murphy, Hayes, and Rockwell, the group used the Murphy cottage as headquarters. Scouts cooked their own meals, completed Tenderfoot to Second Class work, hiked six miles, drilled, swam, and earned eight merit badges. Prizes went to Medlar, Perry, Kress, Hanna, Graham, Adams, and Campbell. The Inez camping trip becomes a monthly activity.

Car breaks axle three wheels near Alma
G H Carl driving a Buick with a man and wife from Ohio lost a left rear axle and the car rested on three wheels. Mr Borton towed the car by tying a log to the axle. The accident occurred one and a half miles west of Alma. Edwin Smith from Pearl Michigan has moved to Alma and rented rooms in the Opera House block. He will serve as tester and inspector at the truck factory after four years in the same line.

County teachers exams set for spring and summer dates
