Hospital Plans Approved for Michigan Masonic Home
The Michigan Masonic Home Board of Control met in Alma and approved architect E. M. Wood’s plans for a $25,000 hospital building to be built north of the current structure. The 38 by 114 foot brick and tile facility will include a basement boiler room a first floor head nurse area mid north sitting room a diatetic kitchen and 13 rooms on the second floor for residents. The fireproof design features reinforced concrete foundations steel window frames and a colonial porch with sandstone pillars. Superintendent Montague is authorized to begin construction at once.

The second annual Alma tournament concluded with Lester Sharp and Ruth Cook winning men’s and women’s singles. Sharp and Cole yielded superb play in a four set final. ARN Exhibit Showcases Farm Specimens At Emerson Township
At Sharrar and Moore's real estate office a tall timothy hay sample from Al Mann’s farm in Emerson township stands five feet tall and represents seven acres yielding over three tons per acre. Four stalks of white wax beans from Andrew Dill’s seven acre crop yield about forty bushels per acre with six to seven inch pods. Also on display is excellent alfalfa from Pi ores and a sample from Parr Livery’s back lot, showing the first crop of the sixth season and sixteenth cutting.

Hospital Notes From Crystal Lake Meeting and Local Patients
Dr Brainerd and wife attended a medical meeting at Crystal Lake on Tuesday. Mrs George Robinson of St Louis was brought to the hospital Sunday and operated on at 9 o clock Monday morning for peritonitis and is getting along nicely. Repairs Begin in City School Buildings on East Superior
Repairs in and on the city school buildings progress rapidly. At the old high school on East Superior Street the boiler that supplied heat for 25 years has been removed and a new unit installed. The back wall was opened a few feet to create a package way for removal, the new boiler matching the old size and costing five hundred dollars, purchased from Wickes Bros. of Saginaw.
