Savings scams blamed on Americans’ appetite for risk
A Washington report notes fake stock schemes proliferating nationwide as swindlers target the public with “high class investments.” Law Wallace Jr of the Government Savings System urges vigilance while highlighting ongoing educational efforts to keep citizens from falling for fakes. He points to New York as a hub but emphasizes the problem is countrywide, with hundreds of people in Washington also exposed to worthless schemes.
