Early Monday in Judge Chadwick s court Robert Luscom was charged with drunk and disorderly conduct and jailed for ten days. Wa Sanborn paid fines and costs of 8.75. B Valkenberg received 60 days for indecent language. Joseph Valkenberg and his son were sentenced to 40 days each for assault and battery and sent to Detroit. They left with Under Sheriff Battin. The judge also issued two garbishes and scheduled a preliminary hearing for a future case.

Death of Marcus Ring in Alma after long life at sea and farming
Marcus Ring born October 16 1516 in Nova Scotia died in Alma on Saturday November 18 1906 after a seafaring start, later settling in Arcada and Pine River townships. He leaves five children sixteen grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the M E church. interment in Brady Cemetery Seville Township beside his wife.

Injuries From Falls At Local Work Sites
Serious injuries are reported from two work incidents. Contractor K. B. Soule fell sixteen feet from scaffolding on East Superior Street, breaking an arm and other injuries but resting calmly and expected to recover. Al Hodgeskinton fell from a ladder at the electric light station while removing a rope, breaking his right arm in three places and later resting at home with the injured arm in a cast.

Coach Harper officiated the M A C Hillsdale game at Hillsdale and Alma returned Monday. Alma delegates to a Kazoo Y W C A convention were Misses Hawes Coats Butler and Holden. The first team photo was taken on Wright Hall steps. Helmer elected captain for 1907 8. Week of prayer for foreign missions and young peoples work ran Sunday to Saturday with meetings in W C A rooms and association rooms. The college thanks community favors including padded maroon jerseys and cream sweater vests. The scrubs vs third team game followed a mass meeting on Davis Field.

The county board of canvassers Glenn Dubois Binnie Coffin and Hidgar Follick finished their work on the county returns Saturday.
