Alma Council bids for paying contracts in 1092
The Alma Common Council met May 15 1092 to open bids for paying the city’s road and street improvements. Mayor J M Montigel presided with Aldermen Fuller Goodspeed Caple Palfrey Cook Kehn Fraker present. Engineers and bidders name asphaltic concrete macadam and reinforced concrete options with varied Baker joints. The council adjourned to 7:30 p.m. and returned to review bids.

About thirty friends gathered at Miss Esther Whitman s home Friday evening for a birthday surprise. She had been at Ithaca writing eighth grade examination and was surprised on returning to find her home filled with friends for her fifteenth birthday. The table was decorated with lilies myrtle and apple blossoms. Refreshments of ice cream cake orange and pineapple salad were served. The guests enjoyed games and left at a late hour wishing her many more happy birthdays.
