Mother of Alma Merchant 15 Dead
Mrs Addie J Robinson mother of W Robinson of this city died at her sons home on East Center Street Saturday morning after a long illness involving heart and bronchial troubles. The funeral was held Monday at two thirty officiated by Rev T G R Browning with local merchants closing stores for the hour. Mrs Robinson was born February 28 1844 in Jackson County and married at nineteen before moving to Albion then Alma where she lived with her son in recent years.

Grand Lodge Delays Cornerstone Laying For Michigan Hospital
Grand Lodge of Michigan backs the cornerstone ceremony for a new hospital north of the Masonic Home in Alma. State officers led a parade with local Masons and Alma band, after which the cornerstone was laid before hundreds. The project continues through summer and aims for completion by early September.

James L. Kress of Alma and Mildred A. Phillips of Adrian were quietly married at the Episcopal Rectory by Rev. Frank J. Jackson on Saturday afternoon. The couple met during a months long courtship. Kress has lived in Alma over ten years and recently worked at Cran dell & Scotts, after stints in Detroit. Phillips moved from Adrian in March and worked at Mrs Woodlands millinery. The ceremony followed a brief campaign by Kress for county clerk.

Drill team wins state cantomment prize at Detroit
The Odd Fellow Canton Pine River No. 47 drill team won first prize of 100 dollars at the state cantonment in Detroit. Teams from Windsor Flint Lansing Owosso Muskegon competed, Pine River captains led by Herb Becker Emerson Atkinson Abe Millman Robert Ross and others. They also earned a promised 50 dollars for long distance travel.

Memorial Day Program and Monument Services Planned

Recital Planned for Presbyterian Young Men's Class
