Fire destroys Byron wool and grain elevator and rail station
A large wool and grain elevator owned by F E Close & Co at Byron burned Tuesday, destroying the building and its contents. The Ann Arbor railway station also burned, and freight there suffered. The blaze delayed the Ann Arbor passenger train by over two hours. The Lew & Church lumber yards were threatened but saved by a bucket brigade. Estimated total loss about 50 000 pounds.

Injured Arcada man in runaway crash last Saturday
Archie McFual of Arcada suffered a severe scalp wound and general injuries when his carriage was frightened by a paper. He was thrown before J. M. Montigel's residence, struck a shade tree, but no bones were broken. The horse escaped the bogey and was recaptured up the street.

Forged Checks Scandal Involving Miss Berman and Ralph Briggs
A youth named Ralph Briggs forged three checks from the Berman Bros firm while posing as a buyer and stole small payables.
