The Union Depot stage play in Alma by Presbyterian ladies

A high spirited Alma program titled The Union Depot will be staged Monday evening May 8 by Presbyterian Church women. Forty or more citizens will portray roles from Aunt Sarah to station master with scenes of a city depot complete with lunch counter, newsboys, hoboes, Japanese ladies, and a diverse cast. Seats go on sale at Sharrar's with reserved and general admission options.

Hagen beck's circus to appear in Alin Wednesday

Town meeting forms committees and plans graveside ceremony

Citizens gathered at the town hall last Friday with J W Holmes presiding and A P Cook chosen chairman. Committees on Music Decoration Invitation Program named with local officials and school and fraternal groups. A program at the Opera House includes prayers, recitations, music by school chorus and college quartet, an address by Rev W L Coggshall and a cemetery decoration procession led by public school pupils.

Fire destroys Estey factory in Owosso blaze

A major fire destroyed the Estey Manufacturing Co. furniture factory in Owosso on Friday morning. The brick five story structure, 250 feet long, housed 300 workers and caused an estimated loss of 200000 dollars with about half covered by insurance. The Lake Ice Co barns also burned. Peerless Cement offered at Alma Roller Mills.
