A new Canadian Sunday law bars bringing foreign newspapers into Canada for sale on Sundays prompting a protest plan. Alma prepares for the Fourth of July with big implied celebrations and royal entertainment, but no committees or order of events yet set.
Grace Margaret Gould notes the season features many linen gowns in dark shades. A dark blue linen gown with a trimmed waist band, vest, and seven gore skirt contrasts with white or pale tan lawn tucking on vest and cuffs. Matching or darker trim laces complete the look.
