In 1905 Ernest died after a bout of typhoidal fever not fully recovered from. He fell ill in January, with the immediate cause listed as inflammatory rheumatism. The funeral at Grant Avenue Forelock will be conducted by Rev. Funnel of the First Presbyterian Church. Ernest was active in the Christian Endeavor and served as secretary of the local group. A sophomore at the college, he belonged to the Zeta Zigma society, with sorrow shared by his parents and brother.
