The Alma community marks Decoration Day on May thirtieth with a ceremony by William Moyer Post G A R and the Women’s Relief Corps. Cadillacs Perry Powers will give the oration, a granite monument to 1861-65 soldiers will be dedicated at Riverside Cemetery, and a full program with prayers, songs, and a procession will proceed from Superior and State streets, ending with the Star Spangled Banner.

Final Concert at May Festival Praised for Talent
The May Festival concert featured strong performances by Mr. Haregaves, Miss Sharp, Miss Roberts, and Miss Amesbury with the Choral Club in excellent form. Despite colds, Hargreaves, Veatch, and Pannell contributed to a fitting Rose Maiden cantata finale and audience enthusiasm remained high. Planning already begins for a stronger next festival.

Lindquist retracts charges in Stanton court case
In Stanton circuit court last Monday Congressman Francis Lindquist filed a retraction ending the suit by former Congressman Francis H. Dodds. Dodds was awarded six cents damages. The plaintiff alleged Lindquist signed circulars accusing Dodds of opposing an investigation of the sugar trust and the Till providing for direct election of U S senators. Lindquist admitted the statements were made in a heated campaign.
